NYS Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Inc.

NOLC - Resident Competition
Apply Today for Chance to Attend Conference on April 28 - May 1, 2010

The AAOS will host its annual National Orthopaedic Leadership Conference (NOLC) in Washington, DC on April 29 – May 1, 2010. The purpose of the conference is to bring together orthopaedic surgeons interested in the health policy activities of the AAOS. The NOLC program includes presentations by AAOS leaders as well as federal elected leaders on issues impacting the practice of orthopaedics. The highlight of the NOLC is the Orthopaedic Lobby Day where orthopaedic surgeons meet with their Senators and Representatives on Capitol Hill to discuss and advocate on relevant health policy initiatives.

The NYS Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons encourages Orthopaedic Residents to become involved in the advocacy process. In support of this goal, NYSSOS would like to bring one resident with the New York delegation to attend this valuable conference. NYSSOS will cover all travel, meal, and lodging expenses for the orthopaedic resident. This year’s NOLC meeting will be held from April 28 – May 1, 2010 in Washington, DC.

Interested residents are requested to submit an application with a one-page essay on why they believe it is important for Orthopaedic Surgeons to be involved in state and federal health policy. Applications must be submitted to the NYSSOS office via email to bennett@nyssos.org by Friday, March 5, 2010. The winner will be announced on March 15, 2010.
